As I noted in my previous post, Obama's speech on Tuesday was full of references to the type of government we'll have if he becomes President.
Here's an excerpt (with Obama discussing what John McCain would see if he toured America):
"Maybe if he went to Iowa and met the student who works the night shift after a full day of class and still can't pay the medical bills for a sister who's ill, he'd understand that she can't afford four more years of a health care plan that only takes care of the healthy and wealthy. She needs us to pass a health care plan that guarantees insurance to every American who wants it and brings down premiums for every family who needs it. That's the change we need."
"Maybe if he went to Pennsylvania and met the man who lost his job but can't even afford the gas to drive around and look for a new one, he'd understand that we can't afford four more years of our addiction to oil from dictators. That man needs us to pass an energy policy that works with automakers to raise fuel standards, and makes corporations pay for their pollution, and oil companies invest their record profits in a clean energy future—an energy policy that will create millions of new jobs that pay well and can't be outsourced. That's the change we need."
Look, something for everyone! No pain, no worries, the government will take care of everything!
Obama loves victims, doesn't he? He is sure playing to the modern American audience. Nothing is our responsibility. We are "owed" and entitled to our jobs, our leisure, our health. If something goes wrong, its not our job to fix it, somebody (read: government) should step in.

Repoman:
The great Oscar Wilde said, "A man can live three days without water but not one without poetry." I bring that quote up to note that it has been many days since your last post, and even more since your last truly entertaining one.
O.K. - it looks like the inexperienced, junior Senator from Illinois, (like Lincoln) will be the next President. It does appear that the House and Senate will both be Democrat controlled, and that at least for the next two years liberal judges will be appointed.
If the price of this complete and total political victory, is silence from Repoman, it is a high price to pay, indeed. Your many readers- strike that- your readers -await.
Anonymus:
My failure to post results from very mundane reasons. My day job has been interfering with my fun.
I will admit, the prospect of an Obama-McCain contest leaves me a bit cold. I'm not so certain as you, however, that Obama is a shoo-in. If McCain can get him into those "Town Hall" debates, we may see the lack of substance and experience show through.
Of course, the alternative, a McCain presidency, does not thrill me either. Its definitely a case of the lesser of evils.
